Best Irish Language Courses for Adults in 2026

We compared six courses for learning Irish (sometimes called Irish Gaelic): Gaeltacht weeks, live online classes and self-paced courses. Here’s who each one suits, how it runs and what it costs.

These rankings are provisional, and close

The marks come from desk research against our published rubric: course providers’ own information and independent reviews. Our teachers will sit in on a class or week of each course, and their marks will replace these. The top four are within 1.5 points of each other, so the honest answer is that it depends on you: who a course is best for matters more than its rank.
