Find the Right Way to Learn Irish for You
The best app for a Leaving Cert student is rarely the best for an adult in Boston. So we don’t stop at one league table: every review says who a resource is best for, and who it isn’t. Pick the learner closest to you.

How we match resources to you
Why we rank by learner
Every resource is marked on the same nine criteria, from teaching quality to dialect coverage. But a high overall score doesn’t make something right for everyone: a detailed grammar course can be perfect for a teacher and hard going for a beginner.
So every review ends with “best for” and “not ideal for” lines written for these six learners, and our ranked lists show picks by learner as well as by score.
In every review
- Who it’s best for, and who it isn’t ideal for
- Which dialect it teaches
- What it really costs, and what the free version leaves out
- Its strengths and limitations
